Our Story
Discover the story behind Can-I-Play, our commitment to community sports, and how we're making it easier for blokes 35+ in Geelong to get active and connect.

I was that kid who grew up knocking on neighbours' doors, wandering the street looking for someone to play with. If there was a game happening anywhere nearby, I wanted in — even if it meant standing on the sideline fetching the ball, waiting for someone to call my name.
Fast forward 50-odd years. I'm 55, I've got work, I've got family, I've got all the usual excuses — and I'm still that boy. Still looking for a game.
I figured I couldn't be the only one.
Every bloke I know over 35 has the same story. They loved sport. Life got busy. The training commitment was too much, the season too long, the schedule too rigid. So they stopped. Not because they wanted to — just because there was no easy way back in.
That's why I built can-i-play.com.
No training. No season. No commitment. Just post a game, show up and play — the same way we did as kids, except now someone built a platform for it.
If you're still that boy too — this is for you.

More than just a game: our secret sauce
What makes Can-I-Play truly special? It's our unwavering focus on building a strong, supportive community. We believe in the power of sport to connect people, boost mental well-being, and create lasting friendships. Unlike typical leagues or casual meet-ups, we curate an environment where every bloke feels valued, included, and encouraged. It's about getting active, yes, but it's also about the laughs, the banter, and the mateship that comes with being part of something bigger.
"Joining Can-I-Play was the best decision I've made. It's not just about the game; it's about the incredible mateship and feeling part of something again."
